Scholarships

The Center for Belgian Culture of Western Illinois scholarship is a fund available for high school seniors. The purpose of the award is to encourage students of fine character, personality and ability to persist in achieving their educational goals. This fund may be used for college tuition and/or expenses. The award is $1,000 and may be awarded to three individuals.

The Ruth Lambrick VanTieghem scholarship is offered in memory of Ruth Lambrick VanTieghem. Ruth was a loving wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She valued family and knew the importance of a good education. The purpose of the award is to recognize and encourage a deserving student who has completed at least two years of college and plans to continue his/her education. This $1,200 award may be used for college expenses.

An award committee will select the candidates for each award. The committee must receive applications by April 15. Only complete application packets will be considered by the committee. The award will be awarded at The Center for Belgian Culture Annual Meeting. Please refer to the application forms above for additional details. The Center reserves the right to promote this award in their publications and with the local media.
